I was looking at my sites stats earlier on today and was trying to look at where my sites are succeeding and where some are coming up short, I was drawn to my page views stat and noticed that on sites such as this one I am getting around an average of 3-4 page views per visit. I thought that this was slightly low, so I did some research.

My research led me to a page by onestat.com where they have actually done research into page views per visit, there results actually showed that page views of around 3-4 is quite reasonable. There research came up with the following results:

The average number of pageviews per visit worldwide:
1-2 pageviews - 62.12%
2-3 pageviews - 12.77%
3-4 pageviews - 6.76%
4-5 pageviews - 7.72%
6-7 pageviews - 2.20%
7-8 pageviews - 2.03%
8-9 pageviews - 1.82%
9-10 pageviews - 0.56%
> 10 pageviews - 4.02%

There is alot of speculation around today that Google is undertaking it quarterly PageRank update. Obviously this is just the Toolbar update, Courtney Tuttle was one of the first to pick it up.

Killer Domains is the first E-book to be released by Daily Blog Tips author Daniel Socco. It works as a guide to creating good/killer domain names that are marketable. The full title of the E-book is: “Killer Domains: Tools & Techniques to Find the Perfect Domain Name”. It does exactly what it says on the label.

Killer Domains

Yesterday I made you all aware of RSS Awareness Day, today I am going to build on the current buzz of RSS and provide you with a tip to help you increase your RSS subscriber count.

There is a wordpress plugin that allows you to display a message to first time visitors asking them to subscribe to your blog’s feed (using cookies). The plugin is called “What Would Seth Godin Do” and has been developed by Richard K Miller after reading a quote by Seth Godin:

One opportunity that’s underused is the idea of using cookies to treat returning visitors differently than newbies. It’s more work at first, but it can offer two experiences to two different sorts of people.

By default the message shown is “If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!” and disappears after three visits.

This is just a quick shout out post to warn you all the 1st May 2008 is RSS Awareness Day. RSS Awareness Day is a concept that was drawn up by Daily Blogging Tips to help raise awareness of RSS and the benefits it can have for everyone that uses the internet.
