Domain Name Scams

There have been a lot of domain name thefts in the last year or so. I spoke about 2 of them recently on Blogging Tips in my post How secure is your domain name?.

The best way to reduce the chances of your domain being stolen is to be proactive and make it more difficult for hijackers to steal your property. And domainer Reece Berg has created a blog to help you all do just that. The blog is called Domain Name Scams. If you are looking to find out more about how you can protect your domain name and how you can buy and sell domain names safely, I recommend checking it out.

    Hi Kevin,

I just wanted to thank you for the mention. It really is a great site you have here and I’ll definitely be back.

With how much domain name prices have gone up in the past 5 years or so, stealing people’s domain names is often just as profitable, if not moreso, than stealing their financial information. The holiday season is always a bad time for phishing scams.

Happy Holidays to you and your readers!

    Reece

Jonathan - No need to be scared but it pays to be cautious :)

Reece - Don’t mention it. As I said, I recently did an article about domain scams so I’m interested in the subject and was pleased when I saw a blog dedicated to the topic. Keep up the good work :)
