In the world of domain name, there is an act of buying a domain name and selling a domain name. These acts are so typical that many domain name consumers and holders are into it a few years after the introduction of domain name in the world of the internet. Today, as domain names continues to become a commodity; many people have particular desires to buy a domain name and particularly to sell a domain name.

Generally, to sell a domain name, which is the main focus of this article, involves a not so easy process. If buying a domain name involves some processes, to sell a domain name is also to undergo different steps.

According to many domain name experts, there are really certain purposes why a certain domain name holder or companies sell a domain name. It is a common note that many of them just purchased a domain name for the purpose of reselling it. Most of the domain name holders sell a domain name after finding that it has no use for them, or perhaps when the third party shows some interest in buying it.

Given such fact, it is then a nice move if you have certain desire to sell a domain name that prior to getting down to the hard work that is necessary to sell a domain name, you know how to place some sorts of value on your domain name. In fact, even if you are not going to post or publicize the set value of the domain name, it is still significant that you are aware of the minimum amount that you would accept for it when you sell a domain name.

When you desire to sell a domain name, you should take note that there are fundamentally two major means to sell a domain name. The first way for you to sell a domain name is to look for a buyer yourself or what the other call as “private transaction”. From the name itself, it is understandable that this way to sell a domain name is strictly between the buyer and the seller, of course with no third party involved in the transaction. Knowing such fact, it is then a very important factor that there is a level of trust between the parties, for the fact that a party is naturally waiting while the transfer authorization is absolutely done and the amount is sent to the seller.

On the other hand, the second way to sell a domain name is to use a company or group to find a buyer on your behalf. Many people address this way to sell a domain name as using an escrow service. In here, you are applying a third party that will fundamentally cling to the buyer’s payment while the dealing is absolutely done. As such, both the side of the buyer and the seller is protected. However, one of the bad impressions for the escrow service to sell a domain name is that you are putting another step to the process involves in the desire to sell a domain name, and another expense.

But in spite of the trail you decide to follow with your desire to sell a domain name, it is just necessary that you take some extra care, since when selling a domain name it is a typical condition that you rarely meet your buyer face to face.

Reverse domain name hijacking is one of the serious problems in the world of domain name today. Many people were engaged in such silly activity and so create a great bang in the domain name industry.

Accordingly, the reverse domain name hijacking is such a ploy that is applied by a complainant in bad faith to attempt to deprive a registered domain name owner. In fact, there is a certain rule for reverse domain name hijacking and it was under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy or UDRP rule 1. Aside from that, there is also a certain rule under the same policy that the panels finding a reverse domain name hijacking are not just sanctioned to deny the objection, but they are really directed to positively locate the presence of bad faith.

Speaking of the bad faith as the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy holds, it is considered that in the true statement of the rules for reverse domain name hijacking, there is really no vivid view of what a bad faith means and what makes for a bad faith UDRP objection as well as the facts that justifies a finding of reverse domain name hijacking. As such, it is then necessary to look at some clear illustrations about this thing.

Essentially, according to a current rulings of the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, the reverse domain name hijacking basically surface when an objection is taken regardless of the knowledge that the domain name owner has an authority or justifiable willingness in the domain name or the case in which the domain name was registered in good faith, with or without the frustrating situation of nuisance or proven bad intent by the plaintiff who is in search of owning the domain name.

For further interest, the reverse domain name hijacking is in fact mentioned in the ruling for the Goldline International, Inc. v. Gold Line with the statement as “To prevail such a claim (of reverse domain name hijacking), Respondent must show that Complainant knew of Respondent’s unassailable right or legitimate interest in the disputed domain name or the clear lack of bad faith registration and use, and nevertheless brought the Complaint in bad faith”.

Another important distinction of the reverse domain name hijacking was the Goldline panel’s adoption of a rule that was set down in Smart design LLC v. Hughes, in which the panels also found out that there is a reverse domain name hijacking not because of an established bad intent, but for the fact that the allegations of the respondent’s bad faith were established in a mode that the panel concluded as unsatisfactory to the plaintiff.

Out of those two cases about the reverse domain name hijacking, there are still others and others that continue to create a booming impact to the world of domain name and to the lives of the domain name holders. So if you think that the rules for reverse domain name hijacking leaves a lot of room for interpretation, well, you are right, but it is just necessary to know that it does not end there. Such is how the reverse domain name hijacking bangs the domain name disputes.

Saturday evening. 2009 is almost over, and we are all ready for new adventures in 2010. I can’t stop  with  addictions to read, search, and testing online tools  for domain industry.

I’m about to share something that can be very useful for new domainers, and new developers, or just  for building the domain name brand ,based on something very simple – one word domain name.

Yeah right, all good domain names is taken!?

I bet you are right, but you need the brand name that is based on 1 word domain name;

  • something catchy,
  • something that’s have meaning,
  • something that really describe what you actually do without guessing to much

Am I right?

We are all  going after some great domains, and we keep digging  to find so many different ways to build the brand based on niche. “We are out of the box people “ we  are doing what we do.  Domaining ,of course what else.

In case we want to expand our businesses to the next level, I found this miracle  tool  helpful for  everyone to brand their business . Keep reading…..

I’m happy to share this. I’m kind sick and tired of the people who charges  you for services, marketing material that promises big bucks , and so many others useless information on the internet.  I will leave this subject  for another time to discuss further.

I love domainers who;

  • shares,
  • who gives you input,
  • who gives you something you can learn from,
  • and we are learning as we go.

I can not resist in this post to let you know I have 2 favorite domain blogers ? They will be pleased to know.

Ask me who they are? Contact me I will let you know..

OK, now back to the subject .

How actually you can brand yourself with catchy one word domain name that means something of nothing, and sounds naturally at the same time. Is this possible? Of course, and it’s available !

We are all in the same sack, looking for new ideas, opportunities, and of course we still  learning, and  try to make money as rewards of our efforts.

Here is how the owner of wordoid  who comes up with great tool explain the system. I play around and tested, and really seems interesting, catchy domains you can brand.

Wordoids are made-up words. They look nice and feel great. They are good for naming things.

“Why?

Naming is not easy. Coming up with a catchy name for a product, company or domain can be a real challenge. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack: the right name should sound good, must not be already used by someone else, should have the potential to become a brand, and preferably with as little Google search results as possible.

How?

Wordoid.com is a webapp that strives to help you invent a good name. It makes up new words. Automagically. It knows how to create words in English or Spanish. It even knows how to create words in an imaginary language, constructed by blending two or more real languages together.

It is simple to use

Just choose one or more languages, select the preferred quality level, type in a fragment you would like the wordoids to contain, and press Create. ”

The main trouble with starters over here is that they do very little search and beginning spending their cash on worthless names. After six months or a year their moral comes down the drain and they’re back where they were but with lighter pockets then earlier.

Some people get into the trademark mess. They get sued by trademark holding company and then they show their temper openly on forums and other bulletin boards.

Some can’t even monetize their domains to get the renewal fees for the upcoming period.

If you have 4 or 5 domains then you can surely shed the amount from your own sack. But when the figure goes around a hundred and a thousand it’s really hard to renew the domains for the future.

My advice to starters would be to stick at twenty-five to fifty domains. They can earn for ten or twenty renewals annually if your names are below average. Some domain might get you more income and it can fill the gap for you. Ultimately the main thing is to not lose a domain for nothing. You should at least get its registration fees from it. This will not start downfall of your domain empire which you want to build. 1 buck loss is also a big loss if you have more then 100 or 500 domains in your domain portfolio.

So what kind of domains you should buy?

Choose wisely on which name you are putting your money. Three characters .com’s are creating a lot of chaos right now in the market. Their price goes sky high in domain name aftermarkets. Generic dictionary words are also long gone. New TLD’s are not so stable right now, dot-com still rules the internet. You might get lucky in some other TLD’s but I wouldn’t advice you if you are new in the game.

4 letters have 456976 combinations from AAAA to ZZZZ. Of them only around 5000 are left. Which is of course the scrap?

What do we do now if we still want to get out feet wet in this?

Look for some guy who is willing to sell his domain for less. There are plenty of places to find this kind of domains available for sale at lower prices. You can go to forums specially created for this kind of discussions. If you don’t know any then here is the one nameslot Go there look for some domains which might fall under our category and then approach the seller. You can go to any other forums that sell domains name. DN Forum is great choice dnforum.comHere also lookout for trademark issues and blacklisting for that particular domain. You can generally get this info from doing a whois search for that domain here whois.sc

Keep your eyes and ears open for latest news. It might shed some light and you might be the lucky one who grabs that name for just registration fees and sell it for 1000’s. Work on them and get every cent out of them. This will keep you in the game. The main thing over here is not to win the game but to be in it and be till the last.

Have you heard about the new standard for domain name whois privacy that the Canadian Internet Registration Authority or the CIRA has recently announced?

Recently, numerous reports have noted that the Canadian Internet Registration Authority has proposes a new standard for the domain name who-is privacy. In their proposal, it is considered that the new policy for domain name who-is privacy will provide all the dot-ca domain name owners with an enhanced domain name who-is privacy safeguards, bringing the domain name who-is privacy policy in line with the currently enacted Canadian privacy laws.

Today, the new proposed domain name who-is standard becomes the hottest subject of a general public consultation. And this domain name who-is policy will see the CIRA to pursue in collecting complete information from dot-ca domain name owners, however, it will create only a little amount of the details that are available to the general public in its web-based domain name who-is look-up directory.

Along with such introduction, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority itself have assumed that this new domain name whois standard will ensure greater privacy protection barriers under the dot-ca regime than are recently accessible with so many other internet domains just like the dot-com. In some reports about this matter proposed by the CIRA, it is noted that the president of the CEO of CIRA had mentioned that this new standard for the domain name and who-is privacy is all about protecting the people’s fundamental right to privacy in the virtual reality. Along with that statement, the president of the CEO of CIRA also mentioned that since the internet is a wonderful and trans formative force, it is then right to take some great care to ensure that such dimension serves the people, and not the other way around.

It further holds that the policy for organizations with dot-ca designations will not be changed, so the same date will continue to be accessible through whois. And lastly, the new policy holds that CIRA will pursue to ensure that all registration data is available to law enforcement agencies.
