You could have a great website and spend all your time adding to it, but if no-one is visiting it, is it worth it?
The fact is that when people what to find something on the Internet, they will search for it on search engines. If your website is not listed or is low on the SERPs then it is likely that you are not getting the most from your website.
The bottom line is, search engine traffic can make or break your site, so investing time or money in SEO is a must for anyone wishing to have a successful website.
As you should now understand SEO should be done by any website owner who wants to receive high levels of high quality traffic.
It is possible to receive traffic from search engines without performing any SEO, but by performing some of the basic SEO tips you can vastly increase your websites traffic.

SEO = Process to Get Higher Rankings in SERP = Higher Rankings in SERP means Heavy Traffic Towards to your website = Heavy Traffic to your website Means Rich Business Goals achieved for your website = Business Goals achieved for your website means Successful SEO for your Website.

Thank you David, As i am very lazy to write post and publish it over the web, still i want one great post regarding serp’s problem, one of my website is doing well through landing pages, but index page is not coming in targeted keyword search. I need hits through my home page in SERP’s.
Hope you will find out quality information and the resolutions.

You should look to remove all the excess such as sounds and graphics that are not needed, and focus on quality text as well getting links to your homepage.
I am not to worried about the traffic my homepage receives, I look for my visitors to arrive at quality content.

David such a nice post. I had read shomoney post in which he mentioned SEO is dying industry. How one can convince him, whatever the stuff he is doing while publishing the post also a part of seo. He raised such worst point over there, and in sitepoint forum there is much more long discussion going on the same. What do you think about seo industry? Thanks.

There is not a 100% accurate list that you can follow to get your site optimised.
I would suggest taking a look at this site:
