Website Start-up Traffic
Please subscribe to ProTycoon.com via the RSS Feed or Via Email.
Protycoon is now 1 month old, and we have decided to give our visitors a guide as to how we have got on. We will let you in on our visitor level, streams of traffic and subscriber count.
The Protycoon.com domain name was purchased on 6th February 2008, this was a new purchase, the domain did not exsist prior to this and had no traffic. We launched the site with our first live post the HTML Cheat Sheet on the 12th Feb, but we did do a few posts before this date on our test server which we now have on the site.
So how are we doing?
Well in the first month we have had:
Visitors: 1,479
Pageviews: 4,500
This is not a bad start, from this figure we had 584 visitors from search engines and 569 visitors from referring sites. Our most viewed post is ‘Encrypting Passwords in PHP Login Script‘.
How did we get this traffic?
We have had some success with the blogrush widget on our site, some of our posts have been syndicated several thousand times.
We have also had some success with digg, but that is very limited so far.
We are also getting alot of returning visitors, which is great news for us, as people are obviously enjoying our content and are coming back for more.
In terms of RSS subscribers we currently have a high of 15, which is still pretty low, but this should improve over time.
We hope to improve these figures over the next month, and thank all our visitors for thier support.

that’s nice… on my part my site was registered on December 2007 but didn’t put attention to it. I only got serious last Feb 25 and started to promote my site. as of now im have 570 visitors which I think is very low… what do you think?

It is a good start.
Every website has got to start somewhere, the key now is to make sure that those 570 visitors keep coming back to your site.
Your site has a good design, you may find that it will perform slightly better if you keep things simple to begin with, less distractions on the screen.
Are you advertising your website?

thank you David.
No, I don’t advertise my site, but I do get visitors from search engine, social networking, and some referrals.

That is the same as us then at the moment, we dont do any advertising, just post up good content, let the search engines find it, and let it build naturally.
