As many of you know, I won a contest over at Group Writing Project last week, which led me to start my own contest. I was browsing through the archives of Group Writing Project and found a post entitled: ‘Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008 Group Writing Project‘. It talks of a contest being help by ‘Influential Blogger‘ where you have to write a post about 10 blogs you think are emerging in 2008.
I thought I would give it a shot, the blogs have to be newer than July 2007, so I had to pick 10 that have been created in the last year that I think are emerging as influential blogs in 2008, here are my 10:
- traffikd.com - Social Media & Internet Marketing Blog
- inspiredmoneymaker.com - Make Money Blogging
- theuniversitykid.com - Helping You To Make Money Online
- rajaietalks.com - Provides Some Great Blogging Tips

As you know ProTycoon.com won its first competition the other day, for details see: ‘78 Tips to increase Your RSS Count‘. It felt great to win a competition and I want to share that feeling with three lucky ProTycoon.com subscribers, by running my own contest here at ProTycoon.com.
There are some great prizes available split between two winners:
Contest Winner:
- $110 cash via Paypal
- 125×125 Sidebar Banner for August
- 125×125 Sidebar Banner for one month on Blog for Beginners
Contest Runner-up:
- 125×125 Sidebar Banner for August
As you can see we have some great prizes for you to win, now lets look at how you can win. The winners for the contest will be decided by picking names at random using Random.org. The amount of entries you have in the draw is dependant on how many points you earn during the contest. 1 point = 1 entry, so if you have 11 points you will be entered into the draw 11 times, giving you a higher chance of winning.
I wrote a few days ago about the ‘Building RSS Group Writing Project‘, this was a contest where bloggers submit their RSS building techniques via posts on their blog, that linked back to the contest page. In total 19 articles were submitted by 13 different bloggers, generating 78 great tips to help bloggers increase their RSS Subscriber Count.
I strongly suggest you check out the 78 Tips to Increase RSS Subscribers for Your Blog.
As I mentioned in my previous post there were some great prizes up for grabs, 3 of the 4 winners have been announced, one lucky blogger actually took two of the prizes:
Overall Winner: David Shaw - ProTycoon.com (Me)
Random Winner: Paul Piotrowski -InspiredMoneyMaker.com
Promotional Contest Winner: David Shaw - ProTycoon.com (Me)
Blogging Idol, the competition that challenges bloggers to see how much they can raise their subscriber count in the space of one month officially began yesterday.
ProTycoon.com is in the running, although Daniel did forget to add me to the competition page, hopefully by the time you are reading this I have been added.
There are over 100 bloggers battling it out to become the blogging idol and only one chance to win the $3000 prize.
The level of bloggers in the competition varies, there are a lot of blogs at a similar level to this one, but there are also some brand new blogs, as well as some very established ones with over 900 subscribers already.
There is an RSS Limit of 1000 subscribers so that the competition can focus on the smaller blogs and stop the blogs who already have a big influence stealing the prize.
