PETA ask for sex.com to be donated
This is pretty unusual that PETA ask for donation of domain name SEX.COM
DOM Partners is hoping to take home a hefty sum by auctioning off the domain name “sex.com” on Thursday, but instead of selling the domain to the highest bidder, we’re asking the company to charitably donate the domain to PETA.
Televisions, news and all media again talking about sex.com . It’s long history behind this domain.
What’s going to happened?

That is just silly to directly ask a company to donate something so substantial. Why would someone acquire such a sought after domain only to donate it to a questionable ‘charity’? Again this is just another example of peta using whatever means possible to generate more exposure for their organization. I love animals, but I would never support peta as they are more about their own publicity than they are about actually helping animals.

Domain name is based on the generic keyword and in the full of form so it’s your choice whether u want it to be sell or donate..

This is absolutely brilliant. Thousands and thousands of people must go to sex.com every single day, and now they will learn about animal suffering and healthy veg diets. Brilliant!! This Mike Mann guy is amazing–love him.

It really is unusual, but if she is asking costs nothing to help her.

First of all the experts want you to believe that the perfect domain name must have a Dot-Com at the end. There’s no fighting it; you and everybody else thinks “Dot-Com” every time you imagine a domain name. Isn’t it the first thing you type if you’re only guessing at the name?

PETA uses tons of sex to sell and attract people so what difference would one more thing do? I think whatever can increase PETA’s fight against animal cruelty is worthwhile, to a point, and INCLUDING Sex.com. It’s a good thing. ~Patty B.

@Patty: While the fight against animal cruelty is a great cause, I don’t agree that publicity for their organization is more important than helping animals. The organizers of PETA seem like they would be more happy with more website traffic instead of more animals saved.

That’s so strange and mind boggling to me that Peta would ask for such a thing. I understand what PETA is all about and their fight against human cruelty but I never thought they’d go as far as really pushing the envelope with sexual things, I guess I haven’t been paying enough attention!

No you have not been paying attention Komodo. A lot of their strategies revolve around sex. They have a going-nude-for-fur campaign with various celebs posing naked to protest against fur. Recently they also did an ad that was an image of Pamela Anderson’s body with labels of the different cuts of meat.

I have only just heard of this. I do remember seeing a few ‘naked’ protests related to animal cruelty in the papers now and then but for PETA to be this involved with that theme that they want that domain is a bit surprising. Still, it’s a good cause.
